Delay of game

So, yesterday I had half a can of diet Coke (with Splenda) with lunch, when we took a break from trimming trees.

I got really sick.

I'm trying to make this entertaining, but it's not working. Really sick means headache, nausea, bloating, severe stomach pain, and while I didn't feel overly warm myself TheMan said I felt hot to the touch.

From a stupid half can of Diet Coke.

Today I feel like I'm recovering from the flu. So I'm taking a (sort of) day off. Although now I've become so used to writing everyday I felt cranky at the thought of not posting something here. So now I've posted and I'm going to go lie down and will my GI system to work faster to get this stuff outta me.

  1. I think it is GREAT that you are posting this. Let's face, diet drinks are NOT healthy for you. Study after freakin' study has proven it. Even Splenda, that was supposed to be the Godsend of sweeteners, is correlated to migraines. (I know it is other things as well, but migraines is the one that sticks with me since it is my issue.)

Rest up and drink lots of water to help get that crap out of your system.

    1. I'm starting to feel better finally. I put a call in to my friend Liz to see if she wants to hang out today.

  2. Before running, I used to drink soft drinks regularly. Since I started running, I switched over to drinking water (or Gatorade) almost exclusively (not a conscious decision, I just crave water more).

Since switching I get stomach cramps far less often (I think this is due to the lack of carbonation). I also feel better and eat fewer sweet things.

    1. Before I lunch I had been drinking water but the tap water at the house I was at had an unpleasant odor. I didn't want to drink it with lunch.
